Cross Cultural Collaboration, Inc.
Ms. Sharmila Ghosh,
Your
December 6, 2007, workshop at Palomar Medical Center on "understanding
dimensions of cultural interactions" was both stimulating and
informative. I am sorry that your presentation was not better attended
and that so many of those present were obliged to leave early because
of other commitments. Unfortunately the one hour time period that
you were allotted was too short and hardly did your message or your
expertise justice.
We
all live in a world where barriers of time and space are shrinking
and cross cultural interactions are becoming commonplace. As cultural
differences may breed misunderstanding, distrust and even hatred,
it is of paramount importance that these interactions start with
commonalities, supported by sensitivity and respect. But most important
of all, of course, is a true understanding of our differences, which
can facilitate the development of new and more successful approaches.
Your talk provided us with a framework for better understanding
different cultures, and your simulation games brought to life the
concepts which you were trying to teach. I personally have benefited
from your workshop and would be interested in attending future presentations.
